Resident arrived to The Grove with uncertainty and hesitation. She had been a relatively healthy female all of her life, and never once required the services of a skilled nursing facility before. After some concerns with her knees and an extended stay in the hospital, her physician recommended she transfer to a skilled nursing facility for supportive sub-acute clinical rehabilitation for strengthening prior to returning home. The patient then chose The Grove at Valhalla for her skilled nursing needs, admitting with high hopes and uncertainty for her future.
The team greeted her with warm smiles as she was welcomed to the short term unit at The Grove. She instantly became very close to her nurse and certified nursing assistant overseeing her care. Her therapists introduced themselves to her the very same day, and did everything in their power to explain the rehabilitation process while ensuring her comfort.
The patient expressed to the concierge and recreational team that she will be expecting many friends and family that will be coming to visit her while at The Grove. Upon receiving this information, The Grove’s commitment to hospitality provided her with a quiet table and space so that she could spend quality time with those she loves. She shared that she was blown away by this display of care and customer service.
It was that level of customer service which made her feel comfortable during her stay. Upon exiting, she had this to say, “My therapist is very good and the nursing staff is fantastic! They all treated me so well.”
