Details of Experience:

Resident arrived to The Grove in mediocre spirits. She underwent extensive therapy at Burke and, understandably, just wanted to return home. After arriving at The Grove, she met her personal concierge and was ‘walked through’ the day-to-day schedule and programs she would be involved with. What stood out to her was not only the physical and occupational therapy, but the impressive array of recreational therapeutic activities she was offered. On a daily basis, her unit was graced with live music, poetry, current events and much, much more.

Day one went very much like day ten, and day 25. As a short term patient, she enjoyed her meals in the beautiful country style dining area with the other residents, had both her therapy sessions, enjoyed the recreational activities offered and relaxed with the amenities provided for her at The Grove, such as her flat screen TV and fully equipped library.

Although originally she had wanted to be home, after spending a few days at The Grove, this resident saw the tremendous benefits to being at The Grove, and felt very much ‘at home’ while being here. “Home away from home” is how she described it. In fact, she had this to say, upon discharge: “I wish I would have known of The Grove earlier; it is by far the best facility I’ve ever been to. The therapy department here was amazing! And the nurses were all so kind and caring. Thank you for helping me get back home so soon!”

Another job well done, team Grove!
