Director of Recreation
Wesley graduated from Michigan State University in 2015 with a degree in Arts and Humanities, an additional major in Psychology, and a minor in Dance. Wesley’s desire to learn more about the therapeutic impact that dance and movement have led to her earning a Master’s Degree in Dance/Movement Therapy from Sarah Lawrence College in 2017. Wesley began working at the Grove in November 2017 as the Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT). In May of 2020, she was promoted to Director of Therapeutic Recreation & Creative Arts Therapy. Her approach utilizes interventions that help aging patients maintain their autonomy, increase self-efficacy, and support overall psycho-social well-being. She is devoted to implementing and facilitating creative programming at the Grove that provides her patients with opportunities for engagement and connection. She is aware of the real need for compassion and validation in this time of her patients’ lives. Wesley is pursuing her Licensure and Board-Certification to continue growth and further her ability to care for patients at the Grove.
