Thornwood is a hamlet in the town of Mount Pleasant, located in Westchester County, New York. Thornwood once had a large and thriving marble quarry near its heart, which was filled in the mid-1980s, and is now the site of the Thornwood Town Center shopping center. Thornwood is currently served by the Mount Pleasant Police Department, and the volunteer Thornwood Fire Department, which has a 1917 Ford Model T in its possession as a department antique.
